Amine/SPDP PEG reagent, SPDP-PEG-amine, MW 2,000, Purity 95%
Synonym: Amine/SPDP PEG reagent; SPDP-PEG-amine
Size
100 mg; 250 mg; 500 mg; 1 g
Properties
Description
SPDP-PEG-amine is a reagent grade pyridyl disulfide modified polyPEG which reacts with thiol moiety to produce a new disulfide bond and generate unreactive pyridine-2-thione as a by-product. The newly formed disulfide bond is cleaved with a reducing agent such as DTT. The amine moiety is reactive with an activated ester (NHS) or with a carboxylic acid in the presence of an activator, such as HATU or EDC.
Identity
Confirmed by NMR.
Applications
SPDP-PEG-amine is employed in attaching various biomolecules, providing a route to create stable bioconjugates that are useful in drug delivery systems. The newly-formed disulfide bond is cleaved with a reducing agent such as dithiothreitol (DTT).
