Properties
Description
16-(Azide-PEG3-ethylcarbamoyl)pentadecanoic-t-butyl ester features an amine group attached to a PEG linker with an alkane tail that terminates in a t-butyl ester. This amine is reactive towards carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters, and carbonyl compounds (including ketones and aldehydes). The carboxylic acid protected by the t-butyl group can be deprotected under acidic conditions. Additionally, 16-(amine-PEG3-ethylcarbamoyl)pentadecanoic-t-butyl ester acts as a self-assembling PEG reagent capable of forming micelles in aqueous solutions.
