Properties
Description
Azido-PEG6-t-butyl ester consists of a PEG molecule that includes both an azide group and a t-butyl ester functionality. Similar to previous products mentioned, this azide can engage in reactions with alkyne compounds like BCN or DBCO through click chemistry processes resulting in stable triazole formations. Furthermore, the t-butyl protected carboxylic acid can be deprotected under acidic conditions, and the hydrophilic nature of the PEG5 spacer improves solubility in water-based media.
Molecular Formula
C19H37N3O8
Functional Group 2
t-Butyl ester
Solubility
Water, DMSO, DCM, DMF
Identity
Confirmed by NMR.
Applications
Azido-PEG6-t-butyl ester can be employed in drug delivery systems to modify drug molecules and improve their solubility and pharmacokinetic properties. The t-butyl ester can be selectively removed to expose reactive groups.
