Description
Azido-PEG12-acid is a monodisperse PEG molecule featuring an azide group along with a terminal carboxylic acid. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases its solubility in water-based media. Similar to previous products mentioned, this azide can react with alkyne compounds like BCN or DBCO via click chemistry methods. Furthermore, the terminal carboxylic acid can interact with primary amine groups when activated by agents such as EDC or HATU.
Applications
It can be employed in the synthesis of polymeric drug carriers or in the modification of nanoparticles to improve their targeting and delivery capabilities. In the field of biomaterials, it can be used to create scaffolds with controlled surface properties for cell adhesion and growth.
