Properties
Description
Azido-PEG4-CH2CO2-t-Bu ester features both an azide group and a t-butyl protected carboxylic acid within its structure. The presence of the azide allows it to engage in click chemistry reactions, while the protected carboxyl prevents self-coupling or polymerization during standard acid/amine or acid/hydroxyl coupling processes. The t-butyl ester can be deprotected through either acidic or basic hydrolysis methods, and the hydrophilic PEG spacer improves solubility in aqueous media.
