Properties
Description
Azido-PEG6-NHS ester comprises both an azide and an NHS ester functional group. The hydrophilic nature of the PEG spacer enhances solubility in water-based media. Similar to other products, its azide group can engage in reactions with alkyne compounds like BCN or DBCO through click chemistryresulting in stable triazole formations. Furthermore, the NHS ester functionality enables labeling of primary amines found within proteins and amine-modified oligonucleotides among other amino-containing molecules.
Molecular Formula
C19H32N4O10
Solubility
Water, DMSO, DCM, DMF
Identity
Confirmed by NMR.
Applications
This compound is commonly used for the conjugation of biomolecules. The NHS ester reacts with amine groups on proteins or other molecules, and the azide-PEG moiety provides improved solubility and flexibility. It is often used in the development of bioconjugates for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes.
