MPEG(5k)-PBCL(7.5k) is a linear amphiphilic block copolymer comprised of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and PBCL. The hydrophilic PEG increases solubility in aqueous media. The PBCL has a benzyl group easy to remove through hydrogenation to leave a carboxylic acid functional group.
