Description
Biotin-PEG12-hydrazide is another water-soluble biotinylation agent designed for labeling glycoproteins and carbohydrate-containing substances that have oxidizable sugars or aldehydes present. The reaction between its hydrazine moiety and aldehydes results in semi-permanent hydrazone bond formation while benefiting from enhanced water solubility due to its PEG arm being transferred onto the biotinylated molecule during applications.
