Properties
Description
PCL(2k)-PEG(5k)-BIO is a micelle-forming polymer with hydrophobic polycaprolactone (PCL) tethered to a hydrophilic PEG. The hydrophobic polycaprolactone (PCL) can be hydrolyzed on the ester bonds. Biotin binds strongly with avidin or streptavidin.
Molecular Weight
PCL(2 kDa), PEG(5 kDa)
Functional Group 1
Biotin
Reactive Group 2
Streptavidin
Identity
Confirmed by NMR.
Applications
PCL(2k)-PEG(5k)-BIO can be used for the construction of biosensors. The detection and monitoring of target molecules can be achieved through the interaction between biotin and biotin receptors.
