Properties
Description
mPEG(5k)-PCL(5k)-COOH is a biocompatible block copolymer. The carboxyl group and the amine react in the presence of an activator (e.g., HATU/EDC) to form an amide bond. The polymer is made of two distinct polymers, a hydrophilic PEG block attached to a hydrophobic polycaprolactone (PCL) block.
Molecular Weight
mPEG(5 kDa), PCL(5 kDa)
Functional Group 1
Carboxylic acid
Identity
Confirmed by NMR.
Applications
mPEG(5k)-PCL(5k)-COOH can be used to develop biosensors because its surface characteristics enhance the interaction between biomolecules.
