Properties
Description
t-Butoxycarbonyl-PEG1-NHS ester features a t-Boc protecting group along with an NHS ester moiety. The t-Boc group can be eliminated under acidic conditions. Additionally, the hydrophilic PEG spacer enhances solubility in aqueous environments. This NHS ester reacts selectively and efficiently with primary amines (such as those found in lysine side chains or on aminosilane-coated surfaces) at neutral or slightly basic pH levels to create covalent bonds.
