Properties
Description
t-Butoxycarbonyl-PEG2-NHS ester contains both a t-Boc protecting group and an NHS ester functionality. The t-butyl group can be deprotected under acidic conditions, allowing the NHS ester to react specifically and efficiently with primary amines such as those on lysine side chains or surfaces coated with aminosilane at neutral or slightly basic pH levels to form covalent bonds. Its hydrophilic PEG linker increases the compound's water solubility when placed into aqueous media.
