Properties
Description
PCL(2k)-PEG(1k)-PCL(2k) is a biocompatible amphiphilic triblock polymer containing a central hydrophilic PEG block and two terminal hydrophobic polycaprolactone (PCL) blocks. The polycaprolactone (PCL) is biodegradable via hydrolysis on the ester bonds. The hydroxyl group enables further derivatization or replacement with other reactive functional groups.
Molecular Weight
PCL(2 kDa), PEG(1 kDa), PCL(2 kDa)
Identity
Confirmed by NMR.
Applications
PCL(2k)-PEG(1k)-PCL(2k) can be used to enhance the biocompatibility of active molecule delivery systems by incorporating hydrophilic PEG segments for improved stability and reduced immunogenicity.
